eLOV Community is a Macclesfield-based community project run by Ian Ray and Russ Hope, built around three core activities: moving goods by bike, repairing and selling pre-loved bikes, and promoting cycling across the local area.
Our mission is clean, affordable, and efficient movement of goods and people by bicycle — because we believe cycling can do far more than just get people from A to B. Through our work, we aim to improve quality of life, reduce landfill, build practical skills, and grow cycling confidence in our community.
Every pedal should push us further towards that goal.
The Big Bike Revival is back in Macclesfield. Free support to help adults cycle locally. Through 10 events, you can learn to ride and get help to improve your cycling, get a Free bike MOT, join a short ride and explore local routes and learn to maintain your bike.
Deliver
We deliver by cargo bike
Need something delivered, collected or moved?
Our affordable, clean and efficient delivery service is currently facilitated by a fleet of cargo bikes with carriers. We can carry up to 100kg on our largest bike. A number of local businesses use our services regularly including George In The Jungle Florist, Millhouse Bakery and Scoop and Scales. We also make voluntary drops for Silklife foodbank, and carry out one-off deliveries for customers who need a collection or have something to move. Our range is within 5km of the town centre.
Have a bike or an accessory that needs repairing, or one to donate or sell?
We offer a quality bike repair service and we also sell pre-loved bikes and accessories. We can collect any donations, which we sell after having carried out the necessary checks and repairs as needed. As a not-for-profit organisation, our aim is to make cycling for leisure and transportation as affordable as possible. We promote clean movement of
goods and people by bike
Interested at being involved with the movement?
We also organize and participate in events promoting awareness of the clean movement of goods and people by bicycle. In addition we aim to develop a work experience programme in collaboration with a local registered charity that supports children and young people aged 11-25.
We like to get together as often as possible so keep an eye out for ad hoc events during the year and events planned to take place during British Cycling week. The first fixed date in the diary is 20 March 2025 with an event that brings together cycling and the cycles of our seasons.
